Eurociett President Annemarie Muntz adressed a conference on contract labour in Maharasta (India) on 24 and 25 August.
Ms Muntz delivered a presentation on recent developments in the agency work industry and achieving appropriate levels of regulation for the industry. She spoke about the need for more countries to ratify ILO Convention 181 on Private Employment Agencies (1997). She previewed the ILO triparpartite Global Dialogue forum for which the theme is role of private employment agencies in promoting decent work and improving the functioning of the labour markets in private services sectors.
In a session on achieving the twin objective of flexibility and fairness for contract workers, Ms Muntz and a representative of Dutch trade unions explained regulatory and bargaining experiences in the Temporary Employment Agency Industry in the Netherlands.
